Russia, Poland Expel Diplomats

The Russian foreign ministry announced that several of its diplomats had been expelled from Poland, which had prompted Moscow to respond with adequate measures, asking several Polish diplomats to leave the country.

At this stage the reasons behind the diplomatic scandal remain unclear.

The Russian foreign ministry criticized Polish authorities for taking an unfriendly and unfounded step, adding that a number of Polish diplomats had already left Russia over “activities incompatible with their status."

According to reports of Euractiv, based on sources close to the matter, four Polish diplomats left Russia on Sunday.

A similar diplomatic incident had occurred between Germany and Russia earlier. On Saturday, Germany reported that one of its diplomats was expelled from Russia, following the fate of his Russian counterpart in Bonn, who media had accused of being a spy.
