Almost 20% of Bulgaria's teenagers between 16 and 18 years think that drinking alcoholic beverages improves one's driving skills, reports Mediapool.bg, quoting a survey of the BluePoint agency.

At the same time, 70% of those who had their driving licenses temporarily revoked for driving under the influence, continue to drink and drive.

Only 50% of drivers said they never drove under the influence, while 85% of those surveyed said they firmly disapprove of drinking and driving. At the same time, however, 10% of Bulgarian drivers does not mind driving after drinking small, according to their own estimations, amounts of alcohol.

In the last year almost 25% of Bulgarians rode in a car, driven by someone who had a drink.

The survey is part of the seventh annual campaign “Alcohol Is A Bad Driver”. This year it is under the aegis of interim Interior Minister Yordan Bakalov and with the support of Belgian ambassador to Bulgaria Anick Van Calster, the Union of Bulgarian Motorists, the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Kamenitza brewery.
