Bulgaria's Osam, Vit Rivers Water Levels Increasing Due to Heavy Rains

The water level of the river Osam in the north-central Bulgarian city of Lovech increased by 1 meter in the last day due to the pouring rains that hit the region.

The level of the Vit River in the town of Teteven has also risen, Bulgarian National Radio informs. The greatest amount of rain has fallen in the village of Chiflik - 58 liters per square meter and in the town of Apriltsi in the Lovech Province - 51 l/sq m.

Two neighborhoods in Apriltsi were left in the dark after the Vidima river flooded the road at the entrance of the town. The situation there has normalized.

Earlier Friday the river Belitsa near the northern Bulgarian town of Kilifarevo overflowed due to the torrential rains. Currently, there are no damaged homes, Dnevnik informs.
