Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov will demand the stripping of the immunity of the Ataka leader Volen Siderov and the GERB deputy leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Tsatsarov told journalists.

He will also request the stripping of immunity of former Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Sergei Stanishev who is currently an MEP.

Earlier this week the Sofia City Court has halted the hearing of the case against nationalist leader Volen Siderov who is accused of hooliganism and infliction of minor injuries to a police officer.

The hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, however, the immunity that Siderov was granted after he was appointed as an MP in the 43rd National Assembly has prevented the beginning of the trial.

Similarly, the Sofia City Court has stopped a trial against Tsvetanov for alleged illegal wire tapping while he was a minister of interior in 2009-2013.

Stanishev is facing a trial for reportedly losing several secret reports while he was a prime minister in 2005-2009.
