Man Shot Dead Near Downtown Sofia

A 38-year-old man was shot dead in a region near the center of Bulgaria's capital Sofia on Thursday evening.

Police sources say the incident happened at about 20.40 EEST in a street near the Pirogov Institute for Emergency Medicine after a brawl between the victim and the perpetrator, according to the Bulgarian National Radio.

The murdered man was reportedly shot six times just as he was getting out of his car.

Investigators say he had no criminal record. It was also revealed he rented a PC repair service near the apartment block where he was killed.

An initial hypothesis suggested the brawl had started over a parking place.
