A survey of the hostel booking website Hostelworld.com has found at least one thing a person can buy in each European country for just one dollar.

In order to ensure that each purchase reflects the country, the website has asked Facebook users to help out with a few bargain suggestions from their home countries.

The survey begins with Iceland where one can buy a litre of milk with a single dollar. In Portugal, one dollar can get you a good coffee, and in the United Kingdom, tourists can taste one of its 'foremost culinary delicacies', the pickled egg.

A genuine French baguette, a very small measure of Swiss cheese, and a German bretzel/pretzel are all the equivalent of USD 1, Hostel World says.

The Bulgarian banitsa (a traditional food prepared by layering a mixture of whisked eggs and pieces of cheese between filo pastry and then baking it) with boza (a fermented beverage) is very tasty and 'very much worth a dollar', the article reads.

In Norway, a dollar can get you nothing, as Norwegians enjoy a very high standard of living, according to Hostel World.

We need your support so Novinite.com can keep delivering news and information about Bulgaria! Thank you!
