Student Loans Most Popular Among Medical Students – Survey

Future medics and pharmacists are the largest group, applying for student loans in Bulgaria, shows a survey of the Postbank, quoted by Pariteni.bg.

They are 16% of all applicants since September 2013. Tuition fees for those studying medicine, pharmacy and architecture are the highest in Bulgarian universities. 

Next largest group are future teachers and social workers – 8%, IT specialists – 6% and students of business administration – 5%. 

The average sum of the loan is BGN 5000 and the average tuition fee per semester is BGN 1200. Most often the sum is used for paying tuition fees.

Most often the applicants are students in the New Bulgarian University 30%, followed by the Medical University Sofia.
