Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski has resigned.
The resignation of Oresharski and his Cabinet was submitted at 17:59:55 on Wednesday at the Parliament's Clerk's Office.
The resignation of the socialist-led government headed by Oresharski came 421 days after the start of its term in office.
The resignation is yet to be included in the Parliament's agenda and to be put to the vote in Parliament, according to reports of Dnevnik Daily.
The 89th Bulgarian government was elected by the 42nd National Assembly on May 29, 2013 on a mandate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) with the support of liberal party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS).
The socialist-led Cabinet became the target of prolonged massive protests after the nomination of controversial DPS MP Delyan Peevski for Chair of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) in June 2013.
