Amendments have been introduced to the public procurement appeal fees to Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition and the Supreme Administrative Court, as of Tuesday.

A proportional fee of 2% of the estimated project cost will be collected for appeals to the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC). The fee, however, may not be lower than BGN 850 and higher than BGN 15,000, Darik news informs.

The fee to the Supreme Administrative Court is also proportional, and amounts to 1% of the contract value.

The Chairman of the CPC Petko Nikolov claimed that the higher fees can result in fewer appeals. According to him, BGN 15,000 is a very high cost and it may eventually hold in many people who are not certain in their right to appeal.
