Parliamentary Represented Parties Reach Agreement, Go Back To Work

The parliamentary represented parties, minus Ataka, reached an agreement on the priorities in the remaining days of the outgoing parliament and will not boycott its work. 

At the consultations, called in by the Speaker of Parliament Mihail Mikov, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and the opposition GERB agreed to support the update of the National Health Insurance Fund (NZOK), reports Darik radio.

The three groups agreed to resume their work on Wednesday. 

DPS leader Lyutvi Mestan, quoted by Darik radio, hinted that his party was going to vote in favour of an update of the entire budget, if necessary, as long as the problems with the lack of funding for the health sector were solved. 

Mestan dispelled the concerns that the proposed amendments to the Penal Code criminalising the spreading of information leading to bank panic would lead to censorship.  

“The sole aim of these amendments is to criminalise actions, which deliberately destabilise the banking sector, from which would suffer both the public interest and the interests of the creditors and the depositors,” Mestan said. 

The opposition GERB would also support the update of the NZOK budget, according to the GERB MP Tsetska Tsatcheva. She said GERB would also support an update of the state budget, if necessary. 

The representatives of the three groups agreed to continue their work on last week's program.
