Bulgarian Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin met Serbian counterpart and Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic during his visit to Belgrade on July 3.

The two agreed that political consultations between would be held this autumn between their institutions to discuss issues regarding bilateral relations, but also Serbia's integration into the EU.

They stressed the importance of the South Stream gas pipeline as a project of interest to both countries, but also to the entire region of Southeast Europe and its energy security.

At a joint press conference with Dacic, Vigenin declared that Bulgaria and Serbia's ability to work together to the benefit of their people "sends clear signals to both businesses and people themselves and provides an incentive to the administration for additional cooperation".

Dacic is quoted as saying he has met his Bulgarian counterparts a few times since assuming the office earlier in 2014, something he pointed as an evidence of the active political dialogue between Bulgaria and Serbia.

Vigenin is also to hold talks with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic, with Serbia's EU dialogue topping their agenda.
