Bulgaria's Emergency Care Units have declared a symbolic permanent protest as of Monday.

The National Association of Emergency care workers issued a protest declaration against the assaults on doctors, the violation of the right of way of ambulances and the lack of measures to ensure their safety, Bulgaria's Nova Tv reports.

The medics explained that the promises of the Ministry of Health for additional staff and increase of salaries have not been kept. They complained that in the last month there have been salary cuts of between BGN 180 to BGN 300 without any explanation, private TV station BTV informs.

All ambulances will have signs saying “Stop assaulting us” put on them.

On June 26, the violation of the right of way of an ambulance resulted in endangering the life of a patient, and injuring the emergency care team. A day later, during the examination of a patient, a doctor from the Sofia emergency care was attacked and assaulted, and his team was threatened, BTV reminds.
