Bulgaria's Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski is expected to address Parliament members on Friday to report on the cabinet's work over the past year.

The current government took office on May 29, 2013 after early elections. However, it has faced an uphill battle against critics and civil protests, amidst deteriorating social conditions in the country, as well as untransparent appointments.

Along with his account of the cabinet's progress, PM Oresharski will also make clear the areas which need improvement. Most likely, there will be a reshuffle of ministers in those spheres, as was mentioned after the European elections.

On Monday, Oresharski dispelled rumours that Health Minister Tanya Andreeva will be replaced in connection with the emergency care protests, saying that he will "not make his decisions based on what a small group of people want".

The National Council of the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) is also set to meet on Saturday and discuss future steps following the disappointing EU election results.
