GERB, Bulgaria's center-right opposition, has expelled its lawmaker Daniel Georgiev from the party.
The move was unanimously backed by GERB's executive committee, as the Deputy Chair of its parliamentary group, Tsetska Tsacheva, told the Bulgarian National Radio.
GERB even called on Georgiev to leave Parliament after he lately become notorious for quitting and
than returning to his party a few times in just 24 hours.
Within that time he was torn between the parliamentary opposition and Bulgaria without Censorship, the new party of journalist-turned-politician Nikolay Barekov.
Barekov has already managed to attract a few lawmakers from different groups to join him and thus claims he has secured presence in Parliament without having run in elections.
He believes the move by a few MPs to declare loyalty to his party is a signal of the need to hold an early vote and also claims that May 25's European elections will be a proof for this.
With lawmakers splintering off GERB, the opposition, which came first at last year's general elections, has been stripped of three MPs since May last year, reducing its parliamentary group to 93.
Daniel Georgiev attended on Tuesday a campaigning event of Barekov and shook his hand, but hours later decided to remain part of GERB.
