Bulgaria and Romania With Highest Reduction of Carbon Emissions

Bulgaria and Romania were the EU countries who posted highest reduction of carbon emissions in 2013, shows an Eurostat survey. 

According to the data, in 2013 they decreased in 22 member states. 

In Bulgaria the drop was 10.2% and in Romania – 14.6%. The average for the EU was -2.5%.

In absolute value, seven EU member states produced 77% of all carbon emissions in the Union – Germany produced 760 M tons, Great Britain - 455 M tons, France - 346 M tons, Poland - 290 M tons, Spain - 224 M tons and the Netherlands - 162 M tons. 

Denmark posted the highest increase of carbon emissions – by 6.8%, followed by Estonia – by 4.4%, Portugal – by 3.6%, Germany – by 2%, France – by 0.6% and Poland – by 0.3%.
