Swedish artist Jonas Dahlberg was selected to create official memorials at the sites of the 2011 Norwegian massacres carried out by right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik.

Dahlberg has been chosen to design two public art installations that will memorialize the victims killed July 22, 2011 in an Oslo car bombing and a subsequent mass shooting on the island of Ut?ya.

For his memorial, called Memory Wound, the artist has sliced a 3.5 m wide slit into the S?rbr?ten peninsula, which faces the island of Ut?ya where Breivik killed 69 people, The Guardian reports.

The stone cut from S?rbr?ten will be transferred to the governmental quarter in Oslo, where another memorial will mark the spot where a car bomb explosion resulted in eight deaths.

A temporary pathway in the capital will also be made by Dahlberg, who will take trees from S?rbr?ten to create a permanent amphitheater in the government quarter called Time and Movement, the Guardian announced.

The S?rbr?ten memorial will be engraved with names of all the victims.
