Bulgaria's Employee GDP Increases by 2.3% - NSI

The gross domestic product per person employed increased by 2.3% in Q4 of 2013 compared to Q4 of 2012, according to preliminary data of Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute.

According to the preliminary data in Q4 2013, employees in the economic sector are 3 255.4 thousand. The employment structure by economic activity shows an increase in the share of employees in the service sector in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared to the same quarter of 2012.

Each employee makes on average BGN 15.7 GDP per hour worked. The average gross value added (GVA) per person employed in the fourth quarter of 2013 has increased by 3.3%, the NSI reports.

According to the preliminary data for the fourth quarter of 2013, the level of labor productivity is highest in the service sector – BGN 6 272.0 average gross value added per person employed.

In the industrial sector each employee makes an average of BGN 6 038.9 GVA. The lowest labor productivity was recorded in agriculture with BGN 1 318.1 GVA per employee, the NSI informs.
