Montenegro's Prime Minister, Milo Djukanovic, invited the Bulgarian business to invest in his country at a meeting with President Rosen Plevneliev.

The Bulgarian head of state is on an official two day visit to the western Balkan country.

Djukanovic outlined the main priorities of Montenegro as infrastructure, tourism, and the energy sector. He said that cooperation between Podgorica and Sofia will be intensive, and the opening of a Montenegrin embassy in Bulgaria speaks for these intentions.

The two countries will seek cooperation in transnational infrastructure projects.

On his part, Rosen Plevneliev talked about the opportunities for cooperation in the field of culture, where a draft memorandum is in the making.

The other meetings within the official visit were with President Filip Vujanovic and Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic.

Plevneliev told his counterpart Vujanovic that Bulgaria fully supports Montenegro in its path to NATO membership and believes this will be a milestone not just for the western Balkans, but for the whole region.
