Sixty-seven percent of Bulgarians are afraid of becoming victims of household crimes.
Twenty-five percent say they are not worried about their property.
The national survey of Exacta Research Group among 1000 adult Bulgarians, done between February 5-11, shows that the most common household crimes are thefts.
Fifteen percent of the respondents said they were victims of a home burglary in the past 12 months. Ten percent had their summer villa burglarized, 10% were victims of pickpockets, 10% had their agricultural produce stolen.
At the same time felonies such as robbery, battery and sexual violence are relatively rare – 5% said they were robbed and 3% were either beaten up or sexually assaulted.
