Geneva-2 2nd Round Syria Talks End in Deadlock

Representatives of Syria's government and opposition forces failed to make progress toward agreement at the second round of talks held in Geneva.

The negotiations concluded Saturday without the two sides determining a new date for a third round of talks.

After meeting the two delegations, UN and Arab League special envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi did not schedule a new date, but made it clear that he expects new talks.

According to a representative of opposition forces, the second round of Geneva-2 was "short and hard", with the two sides expressing radically opposing views on how to stop the violence tearing Syria.
