Reports that leading figures of the Bulgarian Socialist Party are growing critical of the cabinet are unfounded, stated Bulgarian PM Plamen Oresharski Friday.
The Oresharski cabinet was elected end of May by an informal coalition between the Socialists and the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms, who together have just about half of Bulgarian MP seats.
Friday the Bulgarian PM was commenting at a briefing in Parliament the plans by opposition party GERB to table a no-confidence motion relating to the cabinet's policy in the field of security.
"This is a weak topic for the opposition. I do not think they will have strong arguments," commented Oresharski.
"Especially since they are an opposition which just stepped out of power, given that among their cabinet's chief weaknesses was policies in security," added he.
"Up to now, I have not heard one signle voice in the Bulgarian Socialist Party speaking against the cabinet," said the Buglarian PM.
"This gives me the confidence that I will have the support of all leftist MPs," added he, refusing to comment the alternative election list for European Elections 2014 announced by former Bulgarian President and Socialist Party leader Georgi Parvanov.
In the past, some socialist representatives have criticized the Oresharski cabinet for its right-leaning composition and policies, as well as for giving in all too easily to demands from coalition partner MRF.
