Bulgarians increasingly seek credits to buy more expensive personal electronic devices, according to a survey of BNP Paribas Personal Finance Bulgaria.

There is a 17% increase in the credit applications for purchases, shows the data collected by the company in 2013. The credit applications for online purchases grew by 300% year-on-year.

Compared to 2012, the average price of laptops, which people wanted to buy with a credit, grew by BGN 300, while the average price of smart phones nearly doubled and reached BGN 890 – 940.

According to BNP Paribas Personal Finance, this shows that Bulgarians are more confident in their future financial stability.

The Top 10 list of goods most often bought with a credit is led by the TV sets, followed by laptops, washing machines, smartphones, fridges, tablets, kitchen stoves, air conditioners, sofas and boilers.

For comparison, in 2012 the smartphones were not even in the Top 10, while the tablets were in the ninth place.
