No Bulgarians Injured in Kabul Terror Attack

No Bulgarian military officers were injured in the terror attack in Kabul on January 17, according to the Defense Ministry's press service.

The Taliban claimed responsibility Saturday for Friday's attack on a popular restaurant in Kabul that left 21 people dead, including 13 foreigners.

On Friday evening, a suicide bomber blew himself up near a popular Lebanese restaurant in Kabul, after which two gunmen entered the site and opened fire.

All three attackers were killed.

The victims of the attack, most of them civilians, included 13 foreigners and eight Afghans.

Among the victims were officials of the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the EU police mission to Afghanistan, and citizens of Canada, US, UK, and Russia.

The terrorist assault was condemned by the U.N. Security Council, NATO and the European Union.
