As Fog Engulfs Lowland Bulgaria, Weather in Mountains is Sunny

Conditions for hiking and trekking in Bulgaria's high mountains are very good, informed the Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service.

The weather is sunny, and highs for Thursday are expected around 1-4 degrees Celsius, said the service.

Hikers are advised to beware of frozen sections of tracks, and to follow only winter routes.

Sunglasses and sun protection creams are also in order, advised the Mountain Rescue Service.

Facilities in Bulgaria's winter resorts are working at their regular regime, but ski runs are for the most part covered with artificial snow, due to the relative dearth of snow this far.
