Anti-government protesters in Sofia clashed with police in front of the Parliament building Thursday afternoon.

Two rallies started simultaneously, one from Orlov Most (Eagle’s Bridge) and the other from the square in front of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).

The final stop was the square in front of the Parliament building, where representatives of the “Early Risers” student movement began kicking and pushing the barricade fences. The response of the police forces guarding the building was to push back the students, reported bTV.

After several minutes of scuffles, the situation calmed down. The Interior Ministry said in a statement that there are no injured or arrested people.

Protests against the government of PM Plamen Oresharski took place also in other major Bulgarian cities, however the situation there was peaceful.
