Bulgaria in 2013 - as Novinite.com Saw It

We regard it as our job to entertain, as well as inform readers. In our annual review “Bulgaria in 2013” we have tried to strike a balance between pure information and fun.

This seems to be your wish too, dear readers. Statistics show that love was all around for you in 2013 as you never got tired of following love birds – be it Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov or Nina Dobrev and her Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhald.

Other major standouts among the most popular articles in 2013 are stories about archeology, the big debate over Europe immigration, Bulgarian beauties and WikiLeaks projects. Those will make a good read if you manage to snatch quality relaxation time during the busy holiday week.

The review clearly shows how our last year's forecasts fare – not very well, in fact. The political developments and moves of both Boyko Borisov and Plamen Oresharski proved unpredictable, so we have a good excuse. But the clear miss is the wave of protests, which released a pressure cooker of pent-up tension.

Will the storm be back? Or it was just a turbulence, which has already passed and settled?

We will know the answer in 2014.

We need your support so Novinite.com can keep delivering news and information about Bulgaria! Thank you!
