Khodorkovsky Applies for Swiss Visa

Russian former oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky has applied for a three-month Schengen visa in Switzerland, according to the country's Foreign Ministry.

The application was reportedly submitted to the Swiss embassy in Berlin on December 24.

The former oligarch has a 12-month visa issued by the German authorities.

Khodorkovsky was pardoned and freed on Friday after spending 10 years in jail for fraud and tax evasion. He flew to Berlin immediately after his release.

The former Yukos CEO will be reunited with his wife and their three children in Berlin on Christmas Eve, according to reports of the BBC News.
