Central defender Ivan Ivanov was voted Bulgarian Footballer of the Year for 2013.

This is the first time Ivanov wins the award, and the first defender since 1996 to grab the prize.

The 25-year old earned himself a transfer to Swiss club Basel in the summer, after 2 successful seasons at Partizan Belgrade. Ivanov quickly proved himself in Basel's starting lineup and played a key part in the team's 3rd place finish in the Champions League group stage, including wins over English giants Chelsea.

Ivanov was also instrumental for the national team in the World Cup qualifiers, despite the team's failure to qualify.

Ivelin Popov from Kuban Krasnodar came 2nd in the vote of the journalists, while Svetoslav Dyakov of Ludogorets came 3rd.

Stoycho Stoev was voted Coach of the Year for his work in Ludogorets Razgrad, leading the team to a 1st place finish in the Europa League groups.

Marcelinho of Ludogorets became the best foreign player in the Bulgarian League.
