Ten family houses will be built in the refugee reception center in the Bulgarian village of Banya.

Construction works will begin in the near future, the Municipal councilor of the town of Sliven Korneliy Zhelyazkov said for bTV.

The funding is provided by the State Agency for Refugees after a public tender.

The construction of the houses should be completed by the end of next year. Zhelyazkov noted that the project was conceived prior to the refugee crisis.

The reception center in Banya has the capacity to house 75 people. Currently, about 130-140 refugees live there, mainly single mothers and children.
