A 27-year-old Bulgarian, sentenced to life imprisonment in a double murder case, has probably fled to the United Kingdom to escape justice, experts say.

A video recording, published on YouTube apparently by Todorov himself, shows him standing by a white door with a light switch, usually seen in British homes, according to experts.

In the video the young man addresses Bulgaria's senior prosecutor and claims he has been found guilty for crimes somebody else committed.

The Sofia Appellate Court sentenced Iliyan Todorov to life imprisonment in a double murder case in April, 2013. The young man was found guilty of the murder of 21-year-old Kiril Vazharov and 24-year-old Vasil Alexandrov in front of the Solo club in downtown Sofia on April 18, 2009.

But the defendant has been missing since the end of 2011 when Sofia City Court surprisingly acquitted him.

The fatal stabbing came after the boys allegedly got involved in a fight between two groups of drunken young people in front of the club and were stabbed in the back while trying to get away from the fight.

A third man, Kiril Dimitrov, got seriously injured.

The Sofia City Court also rejected the civil action initiated by the parents of the two murdered boys and by Kiril Dimitrov for non-pecuniary damages worth BGN 850 000.

The parents of Kiril Vazharov sought BGN 300 000 in damages from Todorov, the parents of Vasil Aleksandrov claimed a compensation of BGN 450 000, and Dimitrov asked to be awarded BGN 150 000.
