Bulgarians Protest Against Discrimination in UK

British employers have declared their support for the protest in London against the discriminatory attitude towards Bulgarians and Romanians in the UK.

The news was announced on Darik radio by Emil Rusanov, publisher of the Bulgarian newspaper 'Budilnik' (Alarm clock) and one of the organizers of the protest.

Rusanov explained that Britain's discrimination against Bulgarians and Romanians was essentially a political insinuation towards the two countries.

The protest in front of PM David Cameron's office at Downing Street 10, London started at 03:00 p.m. EET.

A recent report has predicted that at least 385,000 Romanians and Bulgarians will move to Britain over the next five years.

According to The Telegraph, the report by the Democracy Institute warns that the British Government is to blame for the “mess” of migration describing the flood of new arrivals as a 'self-inflicted economic migrant own goal.'

This month British Prime Minister David Cameron announced a crackdown on so-called "benefit tourism", citing fears over mass immigration from Bulgaria and Romania.

Under the proposed series of measures new migrants will not get out-of-work benefits for the first three months and payments will be stopped after six months unless they have a "genuine" chance of a job.

But many officials, including Cameron's ministers, believe the government should go further than that.
