Ski Resorts Most Popular New Year's Destination for Bulgarians

The ski resorts Bansko, Borovets, and Pamporovo are the most popular destinations for Bulgarians for the upcoming New Year celebrations.

Besides the leading mountain resorts, Sandanski, Hisarya, Velingrad, Devin, and Pravets are also preferred travel spots, due to their spa complexes, reports the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

Most Bulgarians choose to stay in their own country for New Year’s Eve. Those who travel abroad, most often celebrate the holiday in neighboring Greece, Serbia, or Turkey, reveal travel agencies.

Among the more distant destinations, Dubai, Malta, Croatia, Spain, Italy, and Tunisia are most popular.

Traditionally, very few Bulgarians travel for Christmas, spending the holiday at home in a wider family setting.
