Ukrainian opposition leader, Vitali Klitschko, has reported that fourteen people remained missing after the violent crackdown in Kiev Nov 30.

"President Yanukovych ignores the hundreds of thousands of people protesting against the government's refusal to sign the EU Association Agreement and against the violation of human rights. On the contrary, the cabinet is tightening repression and police violence. This regime is to blame for the assaults and arrests of peaceful protesters," Klitschko, who chairs the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform party (UDAR - Punch) , stressed.

Dozens of protesters were wounded in Ukraine's capital in the early hours of November 30 as riot police brutally dispersed them calling for the resignation of Yanukovych after his refusal to sign a strategic deal with the EU.

On December 1, hundreds of thousands of protesters gathered in Kiev's central streets to vent their anger over the bloody crackdown of the previous day.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has admitted that law enforcement authorities used excessive force to disperse the pro-EU rally on Independence Square last Saturday.
