Sofia to Light up Christmas Tree Sunday Evening

Bulgaria's capital Sofia will turn on the lights of its Christmas tree on December 1, Sunday, at 7 PM with a special celebration for the sixth consecutive year.

The traditional Sofia Christmas tree, near the Rila Hotel in downtown Sofia, will be opened by the mayor Yordanka Fandakova.

Dance troops and choirs from local schools and ensembles will perform on a stage in the park by the hotel.

A festive retro-tram car with decorations will run between 4 PM and 7:30 PM.
