Bulgaria, Iraq Seal Economic Cooperation Agreement

Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev welcomed Iraqi Minister of Trade Khairalla Babiker in Sofia Friday.

The two discussed matters of mutual interest, as well as signed an agreement for economic and research ooperation between the two countries.

The event also included holding the 25th seesion of the joint Bulgarian-Iraqi comittee for trade, economic and technical cooperation.

"The commitee will actively contribute to the institutions' and businesses' efforts to deepen their bilateral partnership," stressed Stoynev.

"We believe that this will greatly stimulate direct contacts between Bulgarian and Iraqi companies," added he.

The two ministers further recalled that relations between the two countries stem from many years back, and underscored the need to make the best of them.
