Roma, Tottenham Said to Vie for Bulgarian Midfielder

Roma and Tottenham are said to be among the clubs interested in signing Litex Lovech’s promising Bulgarian youngster Simeon Slavchev.

Italian site Tuttomerkato reported on Thursday that Roma have sent an emissary to talk with the midfielder’s agent ahead of Litex’s next league game.

The site also reported that Tottenham’s technical director Franco Baldini would also attempt to negotiate a deal.

On Wednesday, Tuttomerkato reported that Italian archrivals Verona and Chievo are interested in signing the 20-year-old Bulgarian.

Slavchev has been vital for Litex so far this season, scoring 10 goals. He recorder his first senior international cap in October.
