Seven illegal immigrants are suspected of having ties to terrorist groups, according to Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Deputy Chair of Bulgaria's State Agency for National Security (DANS)

Speaking Thursday after a sitting of the parliamentary committee on oversight of the security services and application of surveillance equipment, Nedyalkov told journalists that the risks for Bulgaria included "infiltration of people with ties to terrorist organizations, the creation of logistical units, etc."

Nedyalkov, who attended a hearing at the parliamentary committee tasked with evaluating the risks from the crisis in Syria, suggested that there were reasonable suspicions about the ties of certain people to terrorist organizations.

"Coercive administrative measures have been imposed on them. The extradition procedures are underway. Coercive administrative measures have been imposed on a total of 30, and seven of them are suspected of having ties with terrorist organizations," he declared, as cited by the Focus news agency.

The Deputy Chair of DANS specified that they had been detained at the respective migration centers, adding that the extradition procedures were lengthy and that the suspects would be extradited to their countries of origin.
