Paris Shooter Abducts Driver, Runs Away - Report

The man who was reported to have taken hostages on main Paris avenue Champs Elysees is reported to have escaped.

The man is believed to be the same individual who opened fire at offices of newspaper Liberacion and bank Societe Generale.

He is reported to have abducted a car, forcing its driver to take him, and to have been left off at the Georges V avenue.

The incident at the Liberation office, which took place Monday morning, left one young photographer fighting for his life.

The attacker is said to have been carrying an automatic rifle.

Later Monday morning fire was opened against Societe Generale offices in Paris finance district Defense.

The police has not yet officially linked the three incidents.
