The Court of Appeal in Bulgaria's Varna postponed for November 19th the hearing on ‘Killers’ case in order to give enough time to the parties to prepare for the hearing.

Varna Appellate Court has approved a request for the postpone of the hearing from the lawyers of defendants in the ‘Killers’ criminal case, informs BNT.

The aim of the postponement is to grant more time to the defense and the prosecution to get familiar with an additional 100 pages that have been added to the protest of the Shumen Regional Prosecutor's Office against the three lighter sentences on the case issued by Shumen Regional Court last year, reports BNT.

The leader of the ‘Killers’ , Petar Stoyanov Chieftain and few other of the ‘Killers’ gang members were sentenced to a life without parole by the Shumen Regional Court in 2012, but other defendants received lighter sentences, which the Shumen Regional Prosecutor's Office currently disputes.

The defendants were among a number of people arrested in the summer of 2010 in what has been dubbed special operation "Killers" and were later charged with contract murders, beatings, arsons and explosions.

Deputy Chief Prosecutor Asya Petrova attend the hearing on the ‘Killers’ trial by the Varna Appellate Court on Tuesday.

Asya Petrova was a Prosecutor in the Shumen Regional Court, prior to her promotion to Deputy Chief prosecutor and she made headlines after the leaders of the ‘Killers’ gang were pronounced guilty in 2012.
