The Bulgarian Government has agreed to distribute to 70% of the subsidies to livestock breeders in December, but unrest among the protesting breeders continues.

Stockbreeders will obtain 70% of the subsidies in December, according to an agreement between representatives of the protesting breeders and the Bulgarian government that was reached on Tuesday afternoon, announced the head of the Bulgarian Association of Dairy Processors, Dimitar Zorov, as cited by BGNES.

The agreement was signed between head of the Parliamentary Agricultural Commission, Svetla Bachvarova, Minister of Agriculture and Foods, Dimitar Grekov and Finance Minister Petar Chobanov and representatives of livestock farming professional organizations, reports BGNES.

Even though the agreement was announced during a protest staged by livestock breeders in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, some of the protesters vowed to continue their protest, because they do not feel that the representatives of the livestock breeding branch that have signed the agreement with the government have succeeded in protecting the interests of all breeders, informs BNR.

Non-payment of 70% of the promised subsidies for this year has provoked nationwide protests by Bulgarian stockbreeders in October.
