Investment in Bulgaria won’t be affected by the refugee wave, because EU supports financially state’ efforts to deal with the influx, says director of InvestBulgaria Agency.

The refugee wave in Bulgaria won’t have an impact on the investments in the country, because the state is supported financially from EU institutions, stated the executive director of InvestBulgaria Agency, Svetoslav Mladenov in an interview for Focus News Agency.

The refugee influx in Bulgaria may influence investment decisions over whether to invest, or not in Bulgaria, but financial stability, infrastructure and skilled labor are the factors that are much more important to investors, pointed out the director.

“When investors evaluate Bulgaria they look at various factors, such as the fact that Bulgaria is a EU member state and that the currency board is stable, such signs of fiscal and economic stability in Bulgaria keep them optimistic about the future”, said Mladenov, as cited by Focus News Agency.

Currently the Netherlands, Austria, Greece, United Kingdom and Germany are the biggest investors in Bulgaria, also Bulgaria is becoming an attractive investment destination from Russia, Hungary, Switzerland and Italy in the last few months, said the executive director of InvestBulgaria Agency.
