Bulgaria's highest-ranked tennis player Grigor Dimitrov will play record title holder Roger Federer in Friday's quarterfinal of the ATP Swiss Indoors in Basel.

Dimitrov, who won his first ATP title last week in Stockholm, earned a place in the quarterfinals of the Swiss Indoors after defeating Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov 6:3, 6:2.

This will be the first official meeting between Dimitrov and the legendary Federer, who has won an astonishing 17 Grand Slam titles, and a total of 77 career titles.

Fans and tennis experts alike, have eagerly been awaiting a clash between these 2 players. Grigor has been nicknamed “Baby Federer” by analysts, who have seen a similarity in the young Bulgarian's game to that of the former Swiss number 1, and believe he has the potential to match Roger's achievements.

Dimitrov himself has openly admitted that Federer has been one of his idols in the game, and will surely relish a match against him.

The Swiss is past the peak of his career, and at the age of 32 is currently 6th in the world. This may prove to be a good time for the Bulgarian, who is running on a high, to play Federer.

Dimitrov's match against Federer is the last in Friday's program, scheduled to begin around 9 PM Bulgarian time.
