Hundreds of thousands jobless Bulgarians willing to work do not actively seek a job, according to data by Eurostat for 2012.

270 000 Bulgarians have the intention to start work , but don’t actively search for one, according to Eurostat data for the past year, published in October.

8% of the workforce in Bulgaria are "persons available to work, but no seeking work", according to the report.

“Persons available to work but not seeking work” is an indicator designed by Eurostat to cover jobless people who do not actively looking for a job, such as discouraged jobseekers and young graduates who do not seek work for some reason.
