The Bulgarian government is planning to cut the budget of the President's office by 12% in 2014.

During 2013, BGN 6.3 M was allocated to the presidential institution, while the amount will be cut by BGN 767 K in 2014, reports the daily Presa.

Parliamentary Budget Commission Chief, Yordan Tsonev, reminded that this is not a move targeted at the Presidency in particular, but falls within the overall plans to cut administration from next year. According to Tsonev, all institutions must share the burden of layoffs and budget cuts.

Last week, Plamen Oresharski's cabinet revealed its plans to cut as much as 10% of the state administration starting 2014.
