A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has killed at least 20 people in central Philippines.

The quake struck 8:12 AM local time (2:12 AM Bulgarian) underneath the island of Bohol, reports the BBC. Most of the casualties, however, were in the neighboring Cebu island.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that a school building may have also collapsed. The disaster triggered power outages.

The Philippines fall in a highly seismic zone. In August 2012, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the island of Samar, causing tsunami evacuations and power cuts.
