NATO Conducts Anti-Aircraft Drill in Bulgaria, Greece

Bulgaria's military transport aircraft C-27J Spartan has participated for the first time in a NATO anti-aircraft drill, which is being conducted on its territory and neighboring Greece, the defence ministry announced.

This is part of an air defense drill, which NATO conducts in the two countries to test responses in conditions of radio interference, the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The drill, which is called “Ramstein Guard“, is taking place from 7 till 11 October, 2013 and involves flight crews, anti-aircraft missile divisions and radar stations.

During the drill, an electronic warfare aircraft Dassault Falcon 20 of the 717th Squadron of the Norwegian Air Force would be based at the Graf Ignatievo Airport in Bulgaria, supported by an interferer aircraft from Greece, the ministry said.
