Bulgaria is among the global competitors in automotive parts manufacturing, according to Bulgaria’s president.

Speaking at the opening of the International Automotive Conference held in Bulgarian capital Sofia from October 8-10, Rosen Plevneliev, being the patron of the event, stated that 8 out of 10 vehicles across Europe are composed of technical components manufactured in Bulgaria, as cited by dnevnik.bg.

“More than 15 000 nationals are employed in Bulgarian automotive sector. Their amount will double, reaching 30 000 employees in the next 5 years. Our country is developing very fast in the car sector, becoming a supplier of auto parts for the global leaders in the industry” stated Plevneliev.

Bulgaria should engage more young people in the automotive industry, recommended the president, adding that the Auto Park Bulgaria project, envisaged to be located in Bulgarian northern town of Vidin is a proof of the sector’s development.

New opportunities for investments in Bulgarian auto parts manufacturing sector and the future of Bulgarian automotive industry will be among the main topics discussed at the forum.

The Sofia’s Automobile Conference will host more than 300 high-profile CEOs from Europe and Asia, auto-parts suppliers and representatives of Bulgarian local authorities among others.
