Bulgarian Socialist MP, Anton Kutev, says the current government is a hostage of the ultranationalist Ataka party.
“This Parliament is a hostage of Ataka. That is what the voters decided, and it is unchangeable now. I am not aware of any discussion being held with Ataka”, Kutev told the morning broadcast of Nova TV channel.
In the past weeks, numerous Parliament sessions were called off due to a lack of quorum, including two scheduled no-confidence votes against Plamen Oresharski’s cabinet.
The opposition GERB party refused to register, thus exposing the government’s dependence on Ataka, whose MPs were on a visit to Brussels at the time.
Kutev added that much of the government’s current work could have been completed by Boyko Borisov’s cabinet. He assured that all promises made in the campaign will be kept.
