Famous Spy Novelist Tom Clancy Passes Away at 66

US author Tom Clancy, widely known for his Jack Ryan series of novels, has passed away at the age of 66.

The author of “The Hunt for Red October” died in a Baltimore hospital near his Maryland home, according to reports.

Ivan Held, the president of G. P. Putnam’s Sons, his publisher, did not provide a cause of death.

Clancy’s military novels made him one of the world’s best-selling and best-known authors. He usually wrote a book a year, making him one of the wealthiest authors in the world.

His books were successfully transformed into blockbuster Hollywood films, including “Patriot Games,” “The Hunt for Red October“ and “Clear and Present Danger.”
