3.2-Magnitude Earthquake Registered in SW Bulgaria

A minor earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was registered Sunday afternoon on the territory of the southwestern Bulgarian town of Dolna Banya.

The jolt was felt at 3.27 pm on Sunday.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located southeast of Sofia, southeast of Ihtiman, near Dolna Banya, according to the Geophysical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale, an epicenter located 8km northwestern of Dolna Banya and 49km southeast of Sofia, and a depth of 5km.

The earthquake was felt in Sofia.

There have been no reports about injured or material damages.
